Bhubaneswar, May 5 (NationPress) The opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha revealed an extensive restructuring of its various organisational committees, wings, and cells on Monday.
The regional party also unveiled the names of its State Office Bearers, assigning responsibilities to 71 prominent leaders.
A total of 15 leaders were named as vice presidents, which includes seven senior vice presidents: Debi Prasad Mishra, Prafulla Samal, Usha Devi, Bikram Keshari Arukh, Pramila Mallick, Niranjan Pujari, and Chandra Sekhar Sahu.
In addition, 20 leaders were selected as senior general secretaries of the party.
BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik appointed 35 leaders to serve as general secretaries, with senior figure Subash Singh taking on the role of Treasurer.
The principal opposition party also established a Political Affairs Committee (PAC), chaired by Naveen Patnaik, which includes senior leaders Bikram Keshari Arukh, Pramila Mallick, Niranjan Pujari, Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, Pranab Prakash Das, Sudam Marndi, Tukuni Sahu, Sasmit Patra, and Dr. Santrupt Misra.
Furthermore, former Hockey India captain Dilip Tirkey has been appointed as the convener of BJD’s newly structured minority cell, with Rizwana Begum as Co-convener.
For the minority cell, Muzibulla Khan, Ayub Khan, and Sk Nizamuddin were appointed as Co-ordinators for the South Zone, Western Zone, and Central Zone, respectively.
Senior leaders have been entrusted with various responsibilities to lead different wings and cells of the party. Prasanna Acharya has been appointed as the convenor for the Biju Krushak Janata Dal, while Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Badri Narayan Patra, and Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik will convene the party’s Regional Development Cell, Co-operative Cell, Sikhya o Sikhyaka Cell, and Fishermen Cell, respectively.
Moreover, heavyweight Arun Kumar Sahoo has taken on the role of convener of BJD’s OBC cell.
The BJD has also appointed party presidents for six districts, although their names have yet to be disclosed.
