Ludhiana, Feb 12 (NationPress) The spokesperson for the Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Pritpal Singh Baliawal, accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of intentionally misleading farmers and individuals involved in the dairy sector of Punjab.

Baliawal emphasized that sensitive agricultural and dairy products are fully protected under the agreement and are not subjected to any provisions that could harm Punjab’s interests.

He also shared the Joint Press Statement pertaining to the India-US agreement with the media.

He challenged the state Finance Minister, Harpal Singh Cheema, by questioning why AAP leaders Sanjeev Arora and Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta have praised the agreement publicly if it is indeed detrimental to farmers and the industry.

Baliawal claimed that the opposition is disseminating false information by asserting that the proposed trade agreement will severely impact Punjab’s agriculture and dairy sectors, while he maintained that the state’s core interests are safeguarded under the agreement.

He further accused the AAP government of inciting unnecessary fear and confusion among the public without providing official documents to back its claims.

Baliawal challenged the state government to release any documents that would indicate potential losses to Punjab’s farming, dairy sector, or industry as a result of the agreement.

He reassured stakeholders that the interests of farmers and dairy producers will remain uncompromised in the future and noted that the agreement is likely to create new investment opportunities, increase exports, and enhance farmers’ incomes.

Present at the event were district BJP President Rajneesh Dhiman, District Vice President Naval Jain, Press Secretary Satish Kumar, Social Media Secretary Rajan Pandhe, spokesperson Surinder Kaushal, Saurav Kapoor, and other party officials.
