Patna, June 15 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has retaliated fiercely against RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha following his recent article advocating for a ‘new freedom movement’ aimed at restoring India’s core values.
BJP representatives Gaurav Vallabh and Syed Shahnawaz Hussain accused the RJD of hypocrisy, dynasty politics, and corruption, asserting that the citizens of Bihar require liberation from the RJD itself.
BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh harshly criticized Jha’s statements, labeling them as “a misrepresentation of India's current reality” and an affront to the electorate’s choice.
“I urge Manoj Jha to recognize that Bihar and India require freedom from the politics of nepotism, anarchy, and corruption,” Vallabh remarked.
“We need liberation from families that undermine the dignity of women in their households, who are implicated in scandals like the fodder scam and land-for-jobs scandal, and who have made dynasty their ideology,” he stated.
The BJP representative further claimed that the people of Bihar would never overlook the culture of loot and legacy-driven governance propagated by the RJD over the years.
Supporting Vallabh’s stance, BJP leader and former Union Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain intensified the critique by invoking Dr B.R. Ambedkar, accusing RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav of disrespecting the architect of the Constitution.
“The citizens of Bihar will seek retribution in the elections for the disrespect shown to Babasaheb Ambedkar. Does Manoj Jha truly desire freedom from Lalu Yadav himself?” Hussain provocatively questioned.
“India commands respect on the global stage. Our forces are penetrating enemy territories decisively. This is not the moment for divisive discourse,” he emphasized.
In the article that ignited the controversy—published on a digital platform on Sunday—Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha asserted that India must revive the essence of the original freedom movement, not merely to counter a regime, but to restore justice, unity, and moral courage in public life.
“The Indian freedom struggle was not solely about ending British rule; it was a civilizational call to empower the marginalized and construct a fair and inclusive society,” Jha asserted.
“Now, after 78 years of Independence, while our democracy flourishes, the values that uphold it are deteriorating,” Jha highlighted.
He raised alarms regarding the diminishing democratic space, the decay of public institutions, and the rise of divisive narratives.
