New Delhi, May 23 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday responded sharply to Rahul Gandhi's ongoing inquiries regarding the 'losses' incurred during Operation Sindoor, as well as the government's 'silence' concerning President Trump's claims about mediating a truce between India and Pakistan.
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, during a press conference at the BJP Headquarters, stated that the Indian Armed Forces are receiving accolades both nationally and globally for their efforts to eliminate terrorism and deliver a stern lesson to Pakistan. However, Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, appear skeptical of the army's actions and the nation's determination to combat terror.
“The citizens of India stand united with our Armed Forces. Yet, Rahul Gandhi persists in making reckless remarks. The nation is questioning Rahul Gandhi about his derogatory language aimed at the Prime Minister. Your comments are being echoed in Pakistan, and Congress statements are being utilized in the Pakistani Parliament to tarnish India's image,” he asserted.
Moreover, Bhatia directed a pointed question at the Congress leader: “Rahul Gandhi, you should clarify your allegiance. Are you the leader of the opposition (LoP) in India or the Nishan-e-Pakistan of Pakistan?”
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi took to X, reiterating his call for the government to explain who permitted the US President to act as a 'mediator' between India and Pakistan.
The BJP representative further criticized Rahul for irresponsibly questioning the number of jets downed by the Indian Air Force. He mentioned that both the DGMO and Air Marshal provided comprehensive details during the May 11 briefing, yet the Congress MP continues to overlook these facts, persistently querying about India's losses to undermine the morale of security forces.
Bhatia pointed out that Mariam Nawaz, a prominent Pakistani leader, has publicly recognized that Pakistan endured significant losses due to India's military operations.
“Today, Mariam Nawaz made a statement acknowledging that on the nights of May 6 and 7, and May 9, Pakistan faced considerable setbacks due to India's military actions. Pakistan admits that India incapacitated 11 airbases and obliterated nine terror hubs. Yet, the Congress party remains in denial,” he declared.
He also accused, “At the behest of Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge referred to Operation Sindoor as a 'chutput (small)' war. Considering the character and neglectful approach of Congress, it is not inaccurate to assert that if anyone is betraying India, it is the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi.”
