Chennai, July 30 (NationPress) The BJP's Tamil Nadu unit on Wednesday launched a fierce criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding his comments in Parliament about Operation Sindoor. They accused him of undermining the Indian Army and aligning with Pakistan's interests.
In a strongly worded statement, BJP spokesperson A.N.S. Prasad claimed that Gandhi's remarks had disrespected the unmatched bravery of the Indian Army and raised serious questions about his loyalty to the nation.
"The Congress party has further deepened this betrayal by casting doubts that provoke a disturbing question: Are they defenders of India or apologists for Pakistan?" Prasad stated.
He highlighted the discovery of Pakistani identity cards from Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists—Sulaiman, Afghan, and Jibran—eliminated in Operation Mahadev, as evidence of Pakistan's role in cross-border terrorism.
"In spite of this evidence, the Congress and the opposition coalition INDIA have disgracefully promoted narratives that undermine India's determination," he added.
Prasad contrasted Gandhi's statements with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong and fact-supported speech in Parliament, where Modi emphasized the triumph of Operation Sindoor and exposed Pakistan-backed terrorist networks.
"The Prime Minister reiterated that India neither forgives nor forgets those who threaten the nation's unity," the BJP spokesperson remarked.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also commended the Army's precision in Operation Mahadev, asserting that it communicated a clear message to the world about India's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.
The BJP accused Congress and the opposition bloc of repeating their history of belittling the armed forces, recalling their skepticism regarding the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.
Prasad charged Congress with dishonoring the victims of terrorism by aligning with Pakistan's propaganda and attempting to create divisions within the country.
"The opposition, now mere puppets of the Congress, has been exposed for their anti-national rhetoric. They must cease their covert support for Pakistan and apologize to the people of India," he urged.
The BJP reaffirmed that under PM Modi's leadership, India would continue to stand resolute against terrorism and its supporters.
"We honor our armed forces and their heroic sacrifices. The people of Bharat will not permit Congress and its allies to weaken the nation's unity," Prasad concluded.
