BJP chief Nitin Nabin begins two-day UP organisational visit Saturday
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin is set to commence a two-day organisational visit to Uttar Pradesh starting Saturday, 5 July 2025, with the tour widely seen as a pre-election strategy exercise ahead of the state Assembly polls due next year. This marks Nabin's first visit to Uttar Pradesh since the formation of the new state BJP team.
Arrival and Day One Schedule in Lucknow
Nabin will land at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, around 11 am, where party workers are expected to give him a grand reception. He will then proceed to the state BJP headquarters via a roadshow passing through key city landmarks including Alambagh, T.N. Chaturvedi Chauraha, Charbagh, Deendayal Smritika, Maharana Pratap Chauraha, and Burlington Chauraha.
At the headquarters, Nabin will chair an organisational meeting with state BJP office bearers, regional presidents, state morcha presidents, and district presidents. At 4 pm, he will offer prayers at the Shri Hanuman Setu Temple in Old Hyderabad, Lucknow.
Later, the BJP chief will hold a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both Deputy Chief Ministers, BJP MPs, MLAs, and Legislative Council members, followed by an interaction with the UP BJP Core Committee. At 7:45 pm, Nabin will meet prominent personalities of the state at the Lucknow residence of Padma Shri awardee Dr Vidya Bindu Singh, and will have dinner with Chief Minister Adityanath.
Day Two: NDA Leaders, Deputy CMs, and Booth-Level Outreach
On Sunday, Nabin will begin with a tea interaction with former state BJP presidents of Uttar Pradesh. At 9:30 am, he will convene a joint meeting with NDA leaders of Uttar Pradesh, followed by separate discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
In the afternoon, Nabin will visit the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal and address the BJP Shakti Kendra Convenor Conference — a key grassroots coordination exercise aimed at strengthening booth-level networks. In the evening, he will visit the residence of BJP booth president Shivaji Rawat in Pir Nagar, Lucknow, to review party activities and booth-level programmes.
Why This Visit Matters
According to a party statement, the National President's visit is 'extremely important for sharpening BJP's strategy and guiding the newly formed team of the state BJP.' This comes amid the BJP's broader effort to consolidate its organisational base in Uttar Pradesh — India's most populous state and a crucial electoral battleground — well ahead of the next Assembly elections. Notably, the Shakti Kendra model, which assigns a party convenor to clusters of polling booths, has been central to BJP's ground-level mobilisation strategy in past elections.
With the new state team recently put in place, Nabin's back-to-back engagements — spanning senior leadership, NDA allies, and booth presidents — signal a top-down push to align the party machinery at every level before the election cycle intensifies.
