New Delhi, April 29 (NationPress) BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia fiercely criticized the Congress party on Tuesday for its recent social media post, alleging it promotes a narrative aligned with Pakistan and terrorism. The uproar began after the official Congress account shared an image on Monday featuring a man in a kurta-churidar, notably without a head or neck, captioned, "Jimmedari ke samay- GAYAB (which translates to 'Invisible at the time of responsibility')."
This enigmatic image has sparked considerable online discussion, particularly following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including 25 tourists and one local.
In response, Bhatia stated to IANS, "It is disheartening and alarming that the Congress, being a national party of India, reveals its dual character and is akin to the Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress here."
He referred to a retweet from a former Pakistani minister regarding the Congress post, saying, "This image (of the social media post) is visible to all citizens. Congress has tweeted a headless image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a moment when the Prime Minister has conveyed a strong message to terrorist Pakistan that any land that endorses terrorism and executes attacks in India will face destruction."
Bhatia claimed that the 'Sar tan se juda' ideology is embedded in Congress's mindset, asserting, "By publishing such a picture of the Prime Minister, Congress has communicated a message to Pakistan."
He emphasized that Kashmir is India’s crown and remarked that making such a post during escalating tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad reveals Congress's alignment with Pakistan.
"They (Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge) claim to support the Indian government, yet their leaders release images like this. Pakistanis are appreciating this Congress post," he mentioned.
Bhatia demanded accountability from Congress leaders, questioning, "Why doesn’t Rahul Gandhi address this tweet? Why are Pakistani officials praising Congress leaders' remarks?"
He also criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress Jammu and Kashmir chief Tariq Hameed Karra, and former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz for what he called statements aligning with Pakistan’s ideology.
"As soon as the Prime Minister cautioned the nation against the terror attack in Pahalgam, the Congress party became agitated. Their presence is here, but their allegiance lies with the terrorists and Pakistan," he added.
The Congress post has incited widespread backlash on social media, with many questioning the timing and implications of the post, especially given the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in 26 fatalities.
Even though Congress pledged full support to the government in combating terrorism during the April 25 all-party meeting, the controversy surrounding its social media communications and leaders' statements has drawn sharp criticism and heightened political tensions.
