BJP Criticizes AAP's Five Election Promises for Patiala Municipal Elections

Patiala, Dec 17 (NationPress) BJP leader and President of the Mahila Morcha Punjab, Jai Inder Kaur, expressed her disapproval of the Aam Aadmi Party's five election promises for the local Municipal Corporation elections, branding them as new packaging, old contents.
She stated, “The Aam Aadmi Party is merely a party filled with deceit and false assurances. During the Vidhan Sabha elections, they guaranteed every woman in Punjab Rs 1000 per month, and nearly three years have passed without them fulfilling that promise.”
“Recently, the party's state president Aman Arora visited Patiala to present five new promises to the citizens. However, he conveniently overlooked the fact that the projects linked to these so-called guarantees are already in progress, thanks to the BJP-led Central government,” she added.
According to Kaur, the first promise of 50 new e-buses is not a Punjab government initiative but a project from the Centre, which received funding in July under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme. She remarked, “The primary funding for this initiative is also being provided by the Central government.”
She continued, “Arora also touted the four-laning of Sirhind road as a guarantee, which is once again a project by the Central government, approved after much effort by former MP Preneet Kaur, as the Punjab government was reluctant to contribute its share for land acquisition.”
“In addition, the continuous canal-based drinking water project for Patiala originates from former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's vision and was initiated with the support of the Central government.”
Kaur declared that the project should have been completed by now if the AAP government hadn't intentionally delayed it for electoral advantages.
She further stated that the current AAP administration has also halted the cleanup of Patiala's dumping ground, despite the previous Captain Amarinder Singh government having already sanctioned funds and completed half the work.
The elections for five Municipal Corporations and 41 Municipal Councils, along with Nagar Panchayats, are scheduled for December 21, with vote counting taking place the same day.
Of the 3,732,636 registered voters, 1,955,888 are men, 1,776,544 are women, and 204 belong to other categories. Voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. using EVMs, with votes counted at the polling stations.
