Indore, March 1 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya criticized the state Congress leader Jitu Patwari on Saturday for his accusations concerning the Union Carbide waste management, asserting that the waste disposal process is being executed with precision.

“It is not wise to comment on every issue. Politicians should sometimes avoid unnecessary remarks on critical matters. Patwari should not have displayed his incomplete understanding of this serious issue,” Minister Vijayvargiya remarked amid the political controversy surrounding the Union Carbide waste disposal at the Pithampur industrial site.

The minister emphasized that every measure is being taken in line with the orders of the Madhya Pradesh High Court under the guidance of senior bureaucrats.

“The incineration process is being conducted in stages with thorough monitoring. There is no cause for concern,” the minister assured.

Previously, the minister oversaw an extensive initiative by the state government aimed at reassuring the residents of the Pithampur industrial area that the incineration of Union Carbide’s waste poses no threat to their health or the environment, including groundwater.

On Friday, Jitu Patwari alleged that the BJP government is concealing facts from the public and using the court order as a pretext for the disposal of Union Carbide’s waste.

“Residents in Indore and Pithampur (Dhar district) once supported the BJP, but they now face health risks due to the Union Carbide waste disposal. The likelihood of increased cancer cases in these regions is now a concern,” Patwari asserted.

Patwari also highlighted that both cabinet ministers from Indore have remained silent on the Union Carbide waste matter.

Nonetheless, Vijayvargiya, who hails from Indore, stated that individuals should familiarize themselves with the waste incineration process before making any comments.

“The ashes produced from the waste during incineration will be stored on a water-block, which is equipped with multilayer safety systems, and will not be disposed of on the ground. There is a scientific method for the incineration of hazardous waste,” the minister contended.
