Bhopal, July 19 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang has accused the Congress party of attempting to disparage the reputation of the BJP government by consistently targeting the police and the bureaucracy. His comments were triggered by allegations from State Congress President Jitu Patwari, who claimed that law and order in the state is deteriorating and even BJP workers are feeling unsafe.
Patwari's remarks were in relation to the alleged murder of a BJP worker, Shyamlal Dhakad, in Mandsaur district on Friday. Dhakad was discovered in a pool of blood at his residence in the Nahargarh area, where he served as the vice president of the Budh Mandal unit of the BJP.
Patwari specifically targeted Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, asserting that the incident occurred in his home district and blaming the BJP for internal strife that purportedly led to the murder.
On the same day, Patwari expressed that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav lacks control over the state bureaucracy, stating that “district collectors are managing the administration independently.”
He further insinuated that many bureaucrats dismiss the Chief Minister's orders due to having allegedly bribed their way into their positions.
In response, Minister Sarang remarked that Patwari's statements stem from the fact that the people of Madhya Pradesh have rejected Congress. Speaking to IANS, Sarang described the incident as “unfortunate and painful,” but emphasized that “one incident cannot be construed as a breakdown in law and order,” mentioning that the police are actively investigating the situation.
The incident transpired in the Malhargarh Assembly constituency, which is represented by Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda. The police investigation is ongoing.
Patwari had previously claimed that the Chief Minister is unable to manage the state's bureaucracy and that “district collectors are running the administration independently,” in addition to voicing concerns about the law and order situation in the state.
