New Delhi, Aug 29 (NationPress) The Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament from West Bengal, Mahua Moitra, has once again found herself at the center of controversy due to her inflammatory comments. Her recent statements have ignited a political firestorm, drawing sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) directed at both the TMC and the Congress.
During a press interaction in Nadia district concerning the matter of illegal infiltration, Moitra made remarks deemed inappropriate regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari vehemently denounced Moitra's comments, suggesting they reveal the “desperation and frustration” of TMC and Congress leadership.
Bhandari asserted: “Figures like Mahua Moitra and Rahul Gandhi — labeled as 'political urban Naxals' — are unsettled by the progress Prime Minister Narendra Modi is achieving for the underprivileged. Their visible frustration and ire manifest in their attempts to incite hostility towards the Home Minister and the Prime Minister.”
He further remarked that despite these leaders often advocating for non-violence, their remarks seem to incite youth against the nation's top elected officials.
He recalled a past statement from Rahul Gandhi, where he had urged young people to “assault the Prime Minister with sticks.” This, he claimed, illustrates the “urban Naxal mindset” which contradicts Indian values and ethos.
Bhandari continued to assert that the agendas and actions of leaders like Mahua Moitra and Rahul Gandhi are detrimental to the interests of the country.
“Such individuals resort to derogatory language and provoke violence against elected leaders like the Prime Minister and Home Minister. Their rhetoric disrespects the impoverished and contradicts the fundamental principles of the Indian Constitution,” he stated.
In the meantime, a provocative statement from Congress leader Ajay Rai directed at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has escalated the political turbulence even further. In response, Bhandari indicated that Congress leaders are disheartened because the nation stands united and their “falsehoods” are being unveiled.
