Jaipur, March 3 (NationPress) In light of the recent impasse between the ruling party and the opposition within the Assembly, former BJP state president Satish Poonia raised concerns regarding Congress's ability to function effectively as an opposition party.
"I have been closely following the proceedings for several days. During our time in opposition, we protested and made our voices heard, but our actions were grounded in reason and substance. In contrast, the approach adopted by Congress appears to lack preparation, clarity, or real concern. Their main focus seems to be on downplaying past issues instead of participating in constructive debates," Poonia stated.
He continued, "They have no significant matters to discuss, either inside or outside the assembly. Their primary objective is to create distractions through a confrontational stance. This, I believe, encapsulates Congress's current role."
During his time in opposition, Poonia and the BJP accused senior Congress leaders of involvement in the paper leak scandal.
At a press conference held at the BJP office, he recognized the difficulties the government faced in addressing this issue.
"We have inherited a complicated system with various legal and procedural challenges. However, I am entirely confident in our government's dedication. As stated in our Sankalp Patra, the SIT is operational, arrests have been executed, and the government is determined to take action. No one, regardless of their position, will be exempt. If not today, then tomorrow, decisive action will be undertaken," he asserted.
Referring to the recently held REET exam, Poonia praised the state government for its effective organization.
"I remember how things were when Congress was in power. The citizens of Rajasthan punished them for their misconduct by voting them out. Among the numerous reasons for their downfall, the most significant was the paper leak scandal," he remarked.
He stressed that the credibility of Rajasthan's examination system had been severely damaged under Congress rule, drawing international attention for negative reasons.
"The Congress government dashed the hopes of Rajasthan’s youth, bringing disgrace not only to the state but globally," he concluded.
