Madikeri (Karnataka), April 5 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has demanded the inclusion of two Congress MLAs’ names in the FIR related to the suicide of a party worker, issuing a stern warning to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara, asserting that the patience of their workers is not infinite.

“Should their names remain absent, the government will be accountable for the ensuing consequences,” the party declared.

Vinay Somaiah, a resident of Madikeri district, reportedly took his own life at his Bengaluru office, leaving behind a note on Friday.

In his note, he accused Congress leaders of harassment and specifically named MLAs A.S. Ponnanna, Manthar Gowda, and Congress figure Thennira Maheena as the reasons behind his tragic decision. However, the Hennur police only registered an FIR mentioning Thennira Maheena.

Addressing the media on Saturday in Kushalnagar, located in Madikeri district, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra made a powerful statement. He warned that if the names of Congress MLAs A.S. Ponnanna (who also serves as the Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor) and Manthar Gowda are not included in the FIR within an hour, the party will commence protests with Vinay Somaiah's body outside the Superintendent of Police’s office.

“Our patience has limits. This serves as a warning to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara,” he stated.

“There is a boundary to everything. They are infringing upon the rights of BJP workers, which is unacceptable in our state. I have communicated with the SP about the negligent police officer in Bengaluru who failed to name the Congress MLAs in the FIR. It is their duty to approach the Magistrate’s Court to ensure the names are included,” Vijayendra asserted.

“I informed the SP that if this is not rectified, we cannot be held accountable for the aftermath,” he warned.

He stressed that the police must include the Congress MLAs' names in the FIR and that the government is responsible for guaranteeing justice. He cautioned the Chief Minister and Home Minister against taking the matter lightly. Citing prior officer suicides in Kalaburagi and Shivamogga, he indicated that the government should be mindful of potential repercussions.

“If the ruling party wishes to silence the Opposition, is this state being governed like a ‘Tughlaq durbar’?” Vijayendra queried.

He further remarked, “Congress MLA Ponnanna assumes that his role as the CM’s Legal Advisor affords him immunity, while MLA Manthar Gowda believes he is untouchable as the CM’s right-hand man. I will await the inclusion of their names in the FIR. They will be held accountable for any ensuing events. If they desire to maintain law and order, decisive action is essential. Are BJP workers not human beings?” he questioned.

When asked about MLA Ponnanna’s denial of any connection to the BJP worker’s death, Vijayendra responded, “I have heard his remarks. Ponnanna should be ashamed for his comments. He bears direct responsibility for the death of the BJP worker. He fancies himself a legal expert—we will demonstrate to him the law. I will ensure this case reaches its rightful conclusion.”

Vijayendra also urged BJP workers and leaders not to resort to drastic measures under pressure from the Congress party. “Confront them with bravery. We are all here to support you,” he encouraged.
