Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Friday, 25 July 2025, said he has personally reviewed the flood situation in Gujarat with state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, as the party simultaneously launched a round-the-clock helpline and control room to assist citizens affected by heavy rainfall and flooding across the state. The twin moves signal the BJP's effort to position itself at the centre of flood relief coordination in Gujarat.

Nabin Reviews Ground Situation

In a post on X, Nabin said he received a detailed briefing the previous night from Vishwakarma on the impact of heavy rainfall and the status of relief and rescue operations in affected areas. 'Last night, I received detailed information from Gujarat BJP State President Jagdish Vishwakarma regarding the situation arising from heavy rainfall and floods in the state, as well as the relief and rescue operations underway in the affected areas,' Nabin stated.

He added: 'In this hour of crisis, our highest priority is to ensure that every possible assistance reaches the affected citizens at the earliest. Every worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party is standing firmly with the affected citizens with a spirit of service and dedication and is actively assisting in the relief efforts.' Nabin also said he prayed for the safety of all affected families and for the early restoration of normal life.

BJP Launches 24x7 Helpline and Control Room

The Gujarat BJP unit has activated a 24x7 helpline and control room, operating from the party's state headquarters, Shri Kamalam, at Koba in Gandhinagar. The initiative falls under the party's 'Seva Hi Sangathan' programme and is being coordinated by state president Jagdish Vishwakarma.

Citizens and their relatives seeking assistance can reach the helpline at 63597 01000 and 63596 02000. According to party leaders, information received through these numbers will be forwarded on priority to the relevant administrative authorities to enable prompt coordination.

Role of the Control Room

'The purpose of the control room is to gather information about people stranded in flood-affected areas or those facing difficulties due to the heavy rainfall and to help ensure that the required assistance reaches them,' party leaders said. BJP workers will remain on duty at the control room throughout the day and night, while also actively supporting government relief and rescue operations in the field.
