BJP Leader Hussain Proclaims the Dissolution of the INDIA Alliance

New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) BJP National Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain on Monday made a harsh criticism of the INDIA bloc, asserting that the alliance has “completely disintegrated.”

He stated that the coalition is nonexistent, lacking any formal structure, leadership, or direction.

“I pay my respects to the demise of this alliance,” Hussain remarked to IANS, further claiming that the INDIA bloc is now inactive.

Hussain pointed to the scenario in Maharashtra, where Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar's NCP have been “utterly rejected” by the voters, signaling the failure of opposition coalitions in the region.

He also emphasized the Congress' decision to participate in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections independently, highlighting that the party is devoid of any formal partners.

“The Congress has always exploited parties for their own benefit,” Hussain stated, adding that after the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress conceded that the INDIA bloc was formed merely for the general elections.

He also referenced comments made by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had similarly acknowledged that the alliance was designed solely for national polls.

Regarding the burgeoning collaboration between the Congress and AAP, Hussain criticized their recent decision to unite in the Chandigarh mayoral elections. He dismissed their partnership as opportunistic, stating that their connections are tenuous and marked by frequent conflicts.

“Look, their coalition has already fallen apart. They unite only when necessary, but these alliances lack strength,” he said.

On the topic of the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi’s forthcoming rally in Seelampur, Hussain downplayed its importance, suggesting that only a handful of individuals would be present to hear the Congress leader.

“If only a few individuals are willing to listen, he can visit Seelampur, Batla House, and Jama Masjid. No one is interested in hearing him,” Hussain asserted.

He also addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the AAP government's new excise policy, which is alleged to be riddled with irregularities.

Mentioning the Delhi High Court’s criticism of the AAP government for delaying the submission of the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report in the Delhi Assembly, Hussain lambasted the party, labeling them as 'scamsters' running the administration.

“The AAP is a party of scamsters. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was never an ordinary citizen. He and his spouse were bureaucrats, merely pretending to be common people,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the CAG report indicated that the AAP government's excise policy resulted in a loss of Rs 2,027 crore to the state treasury due to various irregularities. The Delhi High Court, responding to a petition from BJP leaders, inquired why the report had not been presented to the Assembly.

BJP MLAs, including Vijender Gupta, have also demanded a special session of the Delhi Assembly to discuss the issue.

However, the Delhi government questioned the practicality of convening a session with elections approaching and also challenged the authenticity of what it termed a 'leaked' CAG report. The party also dismissed the allegations of misconduct against Kejriwal and his Cabinet ministers.
