Delhi Congress Not Taken Aback by AAP's Independent Election Strategy

New Delhi, Dec 1 (NationPress) After AAP opted to run independently in the Assembly elections, Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav stated on Sunday that this development comes as no surprise, as his party had decided almost six months ago to compete in the elections on its own.
“There is nothing novel in Arvind Kejriwal’s declaration regarding the absence of an alliance in Delhi. We experienced the consequences of AAP’s inadequate governance during the Lok Sabha elections,” Yadav informed IANS.
He expressed that had Congress contested the Lok Sabha elections independently, considering the significant impact Rahul Gandhi has among the electorate, the party would have achieved considerable success.
The Delhi Congress leader emphasized that the party is determined to contest and secure all 70 seats without forming any alliances – a decision made six months prior, he stated.
“The Congress follows a democratic process for decision-making, which involves thorough discussions, unlike the authoritarian and dictatorial approach of Kejriwal,” he remarked.
Yadav connected Saturday’s reported liquid attack on Kejriwal to the underlying public resentment against the AAP government’s unfulfilled commitments.
“The pledges that Kejriwal made 11 years ago remain unfulfilled. The public’s discontent towards him is growing,” added Yadav.
“Corruption is jeopardizing the AAP. Former Delhi CM Kejriwal and 18 to 20 MLAs have faced arrest due to corruption charges. Their failure to establish a Lokpal to eradicate corruption has been unveiled before the voters,” he stated.
Yadav noted that the Delhi Nyay Yatra has been garnering tremendous support from the populace for the past 24 days, suggesting that public sentiment is leaning towards Congress.
He concluded by stating that the shortcomings of the AAP government have adversely impacted the lives of the people, leading to their anger and disappointment directed towards Kejriwal.
