2025 Delhi Elections: Arvind Kejriwal Dismisses Congress Alliance

New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) - Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former Chief Minister of Delhi, declared on Wednesday that his party intends to compete independently in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the national capital, firmly stating that there is no possibility of an alliance with Congress.

In light of ongoing discussions about a potential partnership between Congress and AAP, Kejriwal took to X to assert that his party will approach the elections on its own.

"The Aam Aadmi Party will be contesting this election relying solely on its own strength in Delhi. There is no possibility of an alliance with Congress," he stated.

Recent speculations had suggested that the two parties might join forces to challenge the BJP in Delhi, with claims that they were nearing a partnership agreement.

However, Kejriwal has decisively quelled these rumors, indicating that he does not require Congress's support.

This marks yet another instance where Kejriwal has declined to align with Congress. He has previously expressed that there would be no coalition with Congress for the Delhi Assembly elections. Congress has also confirmed its intention to run independently, as stated by Devender Yadav, the head of the Delhi Pradesh Congress, who mentioned that the party will contest all 70 seats in the national capital. Despite this, conjectures about a potential alliance persisted.

In a post this morning, Kejriwal reiterated that there will be no collaboration between Congress and AAP.

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, Kejriwal has already dismissed the idea of a partnership with Congress in Punjab, announcing that AAP would contend for all 13 Lok Sabha seats independently.

The two parties also failed to negotiate a seat-sharing agreement for the Haryana Assembly elections.

Kejriwal's AAP has embarked on an assertive campaign for the upcoming elections, treating it as a significant people's referendum on the party's performance.

On Tuesday, he unveiled five key guarantees for the city's autorickshaw drivers. These guarantees include a Rs 10 lakh life insurance policy, Rs 1 lakh financial aid for a daughter's wedding, Rs 2,500 uniform allowance twice a year during Holi and Diwali, along with free coaching for the children of auto drivers to help them prepare for competitive exams.

So far, AAP has announced 31 candidates for the forthcoming elections.
