Bengaluru, Oct 13 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has criticized state Minister Priyank Kharge, claiming that he devotes his time to trivial matters while neglecting the significant injustices faced by Dalits under the Congress-led administration.
“He is not even deserving of the title Dalit,” Narayanaswamy asserted.
During a press conference at the BJP State Office, Jagannath Bhavan, on Monday, he cautioned Priyank Kharge against making flippant remarks about the RSS merely for the sake of gaining attention or media coverage.
“Has the RSS ever disrespected Dr. B.R. Ambedkar? Has it ever acted against him?” he pressed.
Narayanaswamy accused Priyank Kharge of inciting controversy by claiming that RSS activities should be limited and prohibited in government schools and temples.
“Throughout the state, Dalits have been subjected to hardships under the Congress rule. You assert that you have allocated Rs 42,000 crore, yet not a single rupee has reached them. You are in no position to comment on this,” he stated.
He recalled, “The RSS was previously banned. So why was the ban lifted? Who persuaded you to revoke it? Did the RSS request it themselves?”
Challenging Priyank Kharge, he continued, “If you possess the courage, attempt to ban the RSS.”
Narayanaswamy remarked, “Mallikarjun Kharge never acted like this. He was composed, inclusive, and never spoke against the RSS. What has driven you to this madness?”
He reminded that when an RSS convention took place in Bengaluru, Mallikarjun Kharge, then the Home Minister, personally ensured security and commended the event.
“Evidence of this is circulating on social media – go check for yourself. Do not tarnish Mallikarjun Kharge’s reputation with your recklessness,” he advised Priyank.
Narayanaswamy stated, “Despite the efforts of narrow-minded individuals to ban and restrict the RSS, it has thrived for a century and is now celebrating its centenary nationwide. Perhaps that’s why you are so upset. During these celebrations, the RSS conducted route marches at 100 locations in Bengaluru. Witnessing this has ignited your envy.”
He commended the RSS for its dedication, saying, “Thousands of volunteers sacrifice their time and efforts to protect and strengthen the nation. No other organization in this country has demonstrated such commitment. However, Priyank Kharge chooses to support and sympathize with bomb-planting individuals and extremist groups.”
“Priyank Kharge must focus on his ministerial duties. He should examine the conditions in his constituency and the state of education in his hometown. There are rumors that he has claimed, ‘Make me Home Minister and I will bring everything under control.’ If appointed, people fear that Karnataka will suffer greatly.
“It is the Congress party’s primary responsibility to rein in ministers like Priyank Kharge. If not, the citizens of Karnataka will hold you accountable for your hubris. Today, as the RSS unites all communities, rather than making frivolous remarks against it, Priyank Kharge should offer an apology,” he concluded.
