BJP President J.P. Nadda Leads General Secretary Meeting in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President J.P. Nadda presided over a meeting of the BJP General Secretaries in the national capital on Tuesday. The agenda included discussions regarding the Delhi Assembly Elections, the party's internal organizational elections, and several other important topics, as reported by party insiders.
Sources indicated that the BJP's initial list for the Delhi Assembly elections will be announced shortly.
The meeting, held at the BJP headquarters, spanned nearly two hours late into the night on Tuesday.
In a post on X, the BJP stated: "BJP National President @JPNadda presided over a meeting with BJP National General Secretaries at BJP Headquarters in New Delhi."
In light of its organizational elections, K. Laxman, a member of the parliamentary board, was designated as the National Election Officer.
Both National Election Officer K. Laxman and Joint In-charge Sambit Patra were present at the meeting.
Discussions also covered the Good Governance Day program, which honors the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25, along with Veer Bal Diwas.
The meeting saw the participation of Organisational General Secretary B.L. Santhosh, General Secretaries Tarun Chugh, Dushyant Gautam, Radha Mohan Agrawal, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, and Arun Singh.
The Assembly elections in Delhi are projected to occur in early 2025.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has already disclosed its list of candidates for all 70 seats in the upcoming Assembly polls.
After securing 67 out of 70 seats in the 2015 elections, the AAP maintained its dominance with 62 seats in the 2020 elections. The BJP increased its representation from three to eight seats, while Congress failed to win any seats for the second consecutive time.
Previously, on November 23, workshops were conducted focused on the BJP's organizational elections, involving national office bearers, state presidents, and organization ministers from across the country.
All state in-charges, co-in-charges, national presidents of fronts, and election officers were also present at the meeting.
As per a BJP source, the election process for Mandal Presidents will conclude between December 1 and December 15. The elections for district presidents are scheduled from December 16 to December 30, followed by the state president elections.
A workshop to elect the state president is set for December 30.
The election of the state president is anticipated to be finalized by January 15.
According to sources, the announcement of the next BJP President may occur by the end of January or in February.
