Chennai, Oct 8 (NationPress) As the Assembly elections draw near, the BJP in Tamil Nadu is gearing up for an assertive initiative to bolster its influence throughout the state.

The party's state president Nainar Nagenthran will kick off a significant statewide campaign named 'Tamizhagam Thalai Nimira' (Let Tamil Nadu Rise with Pride) in Madurai on October 12.

National BJP president J.P. Nadda will officially inaugurate the campaign.

Nagenthran has been actively engaging with the party's state executive committee and is anticipated to visit crucial areas such as Sivaganga, Chengalpattu, Chennai North, Chennai Central, and Perambalur over the next few weeks.

This initiative is designed to invigorate the party's cadre, establish connections with voters, and position the BJP as a significant contender alongside its ally, the AIADMK, in the forthcoming elections.

For the campaign launch, BJP's Madurai Metropolitan District president Mari Chakravarthy approached the Madurai city police for permission to hold the event at one of five locations - Koodal Nagar bus stand, Palanganatham, Simmakkal, Annanagar Ambika Theatre junction, or another appropriate site.

After evaluation, the city police authorized the launch event to take place at the Ambika Theatre junction in Annanagar.

However, officials have issued several safety protocols for the event. The BJP is required to supply drinking water to attendees, limit the presence of pregnant women and children to ensure safety, and coordinate closely with law enforcement.

Traffic management, emergency medical support, and security measures are expected to be implemented as part of the preparations. This campaign is crucial as the BJP seeks to enhance its presence in Tamil Nadu beyond its traditional strongholds and capitalize on the AIADMK-BJP alliance.

Party officials believe the slogan 'Tamizhagam Thalai Nimira' will resonate with voters by emphasizing Tamil pride and promising development along with strong governance.

The Madurai launch is likely to attract a significant crowd, with prominent BJP leaders and grassroots supporters rallying for the cause. Following the kickoff, Nagenthran will travel across various districts to engage with the public, generating momentum ahead of the election period.
