Imphal, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, stated on Tuesday that the BJP-led administration is committed to non-discriminatory development across the hills and valleys, advocating for inclusive progress within the state.

While addressing the 33rd general conference-cum-sports meet in Riha village, Kamjong district, he emphasized that mutual respect among citizens strengthens the bonds of unity.

Detailing significant projects undertaken in Kamjong over the past seven years, he announced the completion of the mini secretariat, which is set for imminent inauguration.

Moreover, the Ava (Ema) market and the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) would soon be inaugurated, he revealed.

Singh also mentioned that two Higher Secondary Schools in the district are slated for upgrades, with construction of educational facilities in Kamjong and Kasom nearing completion.

The Chief Minister indicated plans for establishing a degree college in Kamjong, home to the Tangkhul Naga community.

Additionally, he committed to constructing a gallery at the Lungreiphung ground in Riha village, estimating the cost at approximately Rs 2.5 crore.

Highlighting developments in hill districts, Singh noted the inauguration of an Astroturf football ground in Ukhrul district.

He further stated that the gallery at the Ukhrul Sports Complex was built by the BJP-led government, with plans for an amusement park in progress.

Pettigrew College is scheduled for an upgrade with an investment of around Rs 70 crore.

To tackle water scarcity in Ukhrul district, a dam has been built on Shiroy Hill, with a budget allocation of about Rs 6 crore.
