Imphal, March 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, reiterated his administration's unwavering dedication to fostering higher education and skill development within the state.

In collaboration with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, he addressed the 15th convocation ceremony of Manipur University.

Singh emphasized that the government will persist in partnering with educational institutions like Manipur University to guarantee that the youth are equipped with the finest opportunities available.

He remarked that the convocation is a celebration of the human spirit, perseverance, hard work, and the limitless potential of the graduates.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that the students' commitment and resilience have facilitated their arrival at this significant moment.

He declared that for years, Manipur University has served as a hub for intellectual exploration, where the frontiers of knowledge are expanded and complex societal challenges are tackled through thorough research and critical analysis.

He pointed out that the university plays a vital role in shaping today's youth, who serve as the foundational strength and growth drivers for both the state and the nation.

Singh expressed his satisfaction that 572 students from Manipur University have gained employment in both government and private sectors over the last two years.

He stressed that graduates carry not only degrees but also the values, knowledge, and responsibilities instilled in them by the university, serving as the backbone for the nation’s development.

Singh also encouraged the graduates to take inspiration from PM Modi’s vision of transforming youth into “job creators rather than job seekers.”

During the convocation, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla acknowledged the event as a moment of immense pride and accomplishment for the graduates, signifying the end of their academic journey and the onset of a new phase rich with opportunities and responsibilities.

Over 1,000 graduates were conferred degrees during the ceremony, with 332 receiving gold medals for their exceptional academic performance.

This convocation was particularly significant as it occurred after a 12-year hiatus, the last one being in 2013.

The event also included virtual attendance from students and faculty members of Bethany College, Presidency College, and Moreh College.

Notable attendees included Chancellor Prof. T. Tirupati Rao, Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, and Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities, among others.
