Manipur Chief Minister Honors NCC Cadets, Reinforces Youth Development Vision

Imphal, March 14 (NationPress) Manipur's Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh celebrated the accomplishments of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets during a special ceremony held at the NCC ground on the DM College campus. He reiterated the government's dedication to fostering an atmosphere conducive to youth empowerment, which received an enthusiastic response from attendees.
During the event, seven cadets who represented Manipur at the Republic Day Parade and the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally in New Delhi were recognized for their exemplary achievements. Singh expressed that these cadets have brought immense pride and joy to the people of Manipur.
“Today, we gather to honor a significant milestone for the entire state,” remarked the Chief Minister, commending the NCC group headquarters in Imphal for their unwavering commitment to molding the future of Manipur.
Singh emphasized that these cadets are the foundation of a new Manipur, one characterized by peace, progression, and prosperity. He also inspected a guard of honor.
In collaboration with Wing Commander Mutum Sandip Singh, the Commanding Officer of the 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, he engaged in a flight simulator session at the unit’s headquarters.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of MLA Joykisan Singh, DM University Vice-Chancellor Dr. W. Chandbabu Singh, and Brigadier Vikrant Kulkarni, along with NCC cadets and their officials. Approximately 2,000 cadets from hill districts including Churachandpur and Ukhrul participated remotely via video conferencing.
Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister, together with MLA Joykisan Singh, visited Khunthoknganbi Upper Primary School and Gurukul Hijam Dewan Junior High School in the Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency, as well as Naorem Birahari College in Khundrakpam, to evaluate the institutions' current conditions and engage with the staff.
On that day, he also inaugurated improvement projects on the Imphal-Saikul road from Hundred Flower School to Sagolmang in Khundrakpam, assuring the community that the work would be expedited. The event saw participation from Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) Chongtham Biswachandra Singh, officials, and contractors.
