Why is BJP chief Nadda launching a fierce attack on Kharge?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) BJP national president and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched a fierce critique against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, accusing him of persistently disseminating misinformation in light of the party's ongoing electoral losses.
In a pointed message shared on X, Nadda presented 10 critical points aimed at countering what he termed Congress's “fabrication politics” surrounding governance, economic issues, national security, and public welfare.
Challenging Congress's integrity, Nadda questioned, “Kharge ji, does Congress have any duties left apart from spreading lies?” He highlighted that voters had turned away from the party in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and had faced significant losses in Delhi and Bihar.
“In 2025, the citizens of India have rejected every lie of yours, yet you persist in spreading falsehoods,” he asserted.
Refuting Congress's assertions that the MGNREGA scheme had been diminished, Nadda stated, “You have falsely claimed that MGNREGA was abolished, depriving the underprivileged of their right to work.” He emphasized that the initiative had actually been enhanced, with workdays extended to 125, payments processed within 15 days, and aligned with village empowerment.
He accused Congress leaders of prioritizing meetings with the George Soros-funded Global Progressive Alliance over significant parliamentary discussions.
Addressing concerns regarding voting rights, Nadda pointed out that Kharge incorrectly claimed that citizens' voting rights had been undermined. “It was the public who exposed your deceit, and even the judiciary dismissed it,” he remarked, indicating that voters had effectively closed what he referred to as Congress's “lie shop.”
Defending the government's economic performance, Nadda noted, “Under your governance, India was classified among the ‘Fragile Five’; now it ranks among the top five economies globally.”
He highlighted that India is now the fourth-largest economy, the fastest-growing major economy, and boasts record-high foreign exchange reserves, accusing Congress of intentionally trying to tarnish the nation’s reputation.
On the topic of national security, Nadda criticized Congress leaders for questioning the military. “The entire world praised Operation Sindoor, yet your leaders echoed the sentiments of Pakistan,” he alleged, claiming Congress had misled the public regarding surgical and air strikes.
In response to critiques about inflation and the GST, Nadda stated, “India's inflation rate is lower than that of many developed nations.”
He added that reforms in GST have bolstered the economy, led to unprecedented revenue collections, aided small traders, and provided relief to ordinary citizens.
Highlighting governance priorities, Nadda commented, “While your leaders enjoy New Year festivities, our government and Prime Minister are busy approving infrastructure initiatives.”
He indicated that this illustrates the contrasting work cultures of the BJP and Congress.
Nadda accused Congress of undermining institutions, asserting that the party has consistently disrespected the judiciary when outcomes were unfavorable. He also pointed out hypocrisy on environmental issues, stating that Congress administrations permitted unregulated mining in the Aravalli range, while the BJP adhered to court-imposed restrictions.
In defense of the Kumbh, Nadda asserted that Congress has spread falsehoods about the event, which instead reinforces India’s cultural heritage and stimulates economic activity.
He further claimed that the party previously misled the public about COVID-19 vaccines, and now about cough syrup, suggesting that recent arrests have unveiled political connections.
Nadda urged Kharge to cease the dissemination of lies and engage in self-reflection, affirming that the ground has already shifted from under Congress’s feet.
