BJP's Prem Shukla Criticizes Bhai Jagtap for Insulting Remarks on ECI

Mumbai, Nov 30 (NationPress) In light of Congress leader Bhai Jagtap's contentious remarks regarding the Election Commission of India (ECI), BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla on Saturday criticized the party for resorting to disparaging language following its 'continuous failures'.
On Friday, Bhai Jagtap labeled the Election Commission of India (ECI) as a 'dog' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and subsequently asserted that this sentiment reflected the views of millions.
In response, Shukla stated, 'Congress leaders have long been disrespecting India's esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their attacks have now spread to constitutional institutions.'
'Individuals like Bhai Jagtap, who show criminal inclinations, are abusing the freedom of speech to make such offensive comments. Congress's silence on this issue indicates that it can only communicate through abuse,' Shukla further lambasted Bhai Jagtap during an interview with IANS.
'What can we expect in terms of decorum from individuals with criminal histories? Bhai Jagtap and his associates are notorious for their unruly behavior and have no ties to refined politics,' he continued.
Shukla also commented on Bhai Jagtap's disparagement of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s decision to refrain from playing against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, asserting, 'As long as Pakistan engages in terrorism against India, there should be no political or cricketing relationships. The BCCI's decision is commendable.'
The BJP has emphatically denounced Jagtap's remarks about the ECI. Former MP Kirit Somaiya lodged a complaint with both the ECI and the Mumbai Police Commissioner, demanding stringent action against the Maharashtra Congress MLC.
BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar also criticized Congress, remarking, 'Whenever Congress faces setbacks, its leaders turn to abusive politics. Rahul Gandhi himself has criticized the nation, judiciary, and democracy when faced with rejection from the public.'
Chandrasekhar questioned what was expected from his party's leaders when the Congress leader himself engaged in abusive political discourse.
BJP spokesperson Gourav Vallabh also condemned Bhai Jagtap's statements, claiming, 'If Rahul Gandhi genuinely respected the Constitution, the Congress leader (Bhai Jagtap) would have been expelled for such language against constitutional bodies. This reveals Congress's lack of faith in democratic institutions.'
