Patna, March 5 (NationPress) Amidst the swirling political atmosphere regarding Bihar's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar's transition to the Rajya Sabha, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of exerting pressure that led to this decision, labeling it a betrayal of the populace.

Speaking to the media, Tejashwi Yadav expressed his support for Nitish Kumar, asserting that external circumstances had forced him to relinquish his position.

"As Nitish Kumar prepares for the Rajya Sabha, we stand in solidarity with him. We understand the challenges he has faced. Had we been in his position, perhaps he wouldn't have encountered such a dilemma," he stated.

The former Deputy Chief Minister claimed that a comprehensive conspiracy was orchestrated during the Bihar Assembly elections, alleging misuse of financial influence and governmental resources.

"During the Bihar elections, a thorough conspiracy unfolded. The way financial power was wielded and the full apparatus was mobilized, we contested against an entire system," he noted.

“We had previously warned that they would apply the Maharashtra model more adeptly in Bihar," he accused, suggesting a broader political agenda behind these developments.

Tejashwi Yadav further claimed that the Chief Minister had been co-opted, insisting that any Chief Minister backed by the BJP would merely serve as a "rubber stamp".

"From the outset, we have said that the Chief Minister has been co-opted, and now this has been validated. Any individual becoming the BJP’s Chief Minister will simply act as a rubber stamp. This is a betrayal of the electorate," he remarked, alluding to the campaign slogan raised during the Assembly elections — “From 2025 to 2030, once more, Nitish.”

Using a metaphor, the RJD leader remarked: "Nitish ji has been made to ride the horse like a bridegroom, yet the vows will be exchanged with another."

"The BJP’s immense pressure has subjected Nitish Kumar to such mental strain that he has been compelled to resign voluntarily," he alleged.

Pointing fingers at the BJP, Tejashwi Yadav accused the party of undermining its allies across various states, referencing regional parties in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.

“In every alliance the BJP engages in, it first seeks to dismantle its allied parties — whether it be the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, or the Akali Dal in Punjab. Across the nation, the BJP aims to fully realize the RSS agenda," he asserted.

Point of View

The recent claims by Tejashwi Yadav regarding Nitish Kumar's political maneuvering highlight significant tensions within Bihar's political landscape. The implications of BJP's influence over regional allies raise questions about the future of coalition politics in the state.
