Bengaluru, Oct 10 (NationPress) Karnataka BJP president B. Y. Vijayendra criticized the state government on Friday for its hasty decision to carry out the caste census without proper preparation.

While addressing the media at Vidhana Soudha, BJP MLA Vijayendra stated that even teachers designated as enumerators are encountering challenges due to the lack of planning.

"The extension of holidays for the census is adversely affecting rural students, particularly those in government schools. Every school day is essential for these children, yet the government has announced unnecessary holidays, interrupting their education," he remarked.

Vijayendra went on to claim that the government convened the first meeting of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) without sharing the agenda with the legislators.

"Meetings are being conducted in secrecy, devoid of transparency. They discuss elections in December, but where’s the groundwork? How many officials will be appointed? What about the infrastructure? There’s no planning at all. They are making politically motivated announcements without adequate groundwork," he stated.

He further criticized the government's failure to maintain Bengaluru's roads, saying, "The citizens of Bengaluru are fed up with this administration. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is busy counting potholes near Prime Minister Modi's residence while residents are struggling to navigate the roads filled with potholes."

Vijayendra added, "The government speaks of London and the Prime Minister, but shouldn't they prioritize fixing Bengaluru? The citizens demand immediate road repairs, not hollow promises."

"Farmers are already facing hardships, and recent heavy rains have exacerbated their plight in North Karnataka. Yet, the Agriculture and Revenue Ministers have failed to visit the affected areas. If they can't find time to support suffering farmers, why should they remain in office?" he questioned.

"Had the opposition leaders and I not visited the flood-affected regions of Kalyana Karnataka, the Chief Minister would have comfortably stayed in his air-conditioned office making decisions via video conference. We visited Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Yadgir, while the Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka and others travelled to Belagavi and Bagalkote. The government must take swift action to compensate farmers; they cannot be left waiting indefinitely. Even the Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has failed to deliver on his promise to provide compensation within ten days," he alleged.

Discussing the MySugar factory situation in Mandya, Vijayendra pointed out that confusion still reigns. He hinted that BJP members might not attend the GBA meeting, stating, "What’s the use of attending a meeting when the agenda is not provided? Even legislators from the ruling party are opposing how this has been managed. The government seems more focused on mending internal divisions than serving the public. It has become an administration operating in conjunction with the real estate mafia."

In response to inquiries about political developments, Vijayendra noted, "Based on the reactions from Congress ministers and MLAs, it’s evident that there is unrest within the ruling party. Even Congress insiders acknowledge that these political developments will reach a logical resolution post the Bihar elections."
