Jaipur, Jan 5 (NationPress) British MP and Padma Shri recipient Bob Blackman stated in Jaipur that the moment is ripe for India to enhance its role and influence at the United Nations, a testament to the nation’s escalating global significance.

He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership, asserting that under his dynamic governance, India’s global esteem and self-respect have seen remarkable growth.

The high tea event in Jaipur, hosted by BJP Haryana in-charge and former Rajasthan state president Dr. Satish Poonia, attracted numerous prominent citizens and BJP leaders.

In his address, Bob Blackman emphasized that PM Modi has conveyed a message of peace and unity through the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family).

He characterized PM Modi as a visionary leader, under whose guidance India is becoming self-sufficient in various sectors and steadily moving towards becoming a developed country.

Blackman highlighted that during global crises, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, India provided support to other nations in need. He pointed out that India is enhancing trade and economic connections with both developing and developed countries, driven by a strategic foreign policy.

Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, Blackman mentioned that he advocated for the abrogation of Article 370 as early as 1992, even prior to PM Modi’s administration. He recalled raising the issue on international platforms when Kashmiri Pandits were compelled to leave their homes, labeling the displacement as both unjust and inhumane. He condemned the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits as a humanitarian disaster and a fallout of terrorism and extremism. Blackman reaffirmed his longstanding condemnation of terrorist acts in Kashmir, expressing solidarity with affected communities.

The British MP also denounced the atrocities against Hindus and assaults on temples in Bangladesh, voicing concern over forced religious conversions.

He asserted that India’s economic status is currently stronger than that of the United Kingdom in several aspects.

Dr. Satish Poonia remarked that Blackman has consistently reiterated India’s message of global welfare and peace in the British Parliament. He portrayed Blackman as a robust advocate for PM Modi’s people-centric policies and decisive leadership on international stages, playing a crucial role in bolstering India-UK relations.

During the event, Blackman was warmly welcomed and honored by Dr. Satish Poonia, MP Rao Rajendra Singh, Overseas Friends of BJP (London) President Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat, MLA Kailash Verma, BJP Rajasthan Mahila Morcha State President Rakhi Rathore, former Mayor Pankaj Joshi, former BJP Yuva Morcha state president Himanshu Sharma, and other leaders.

The guests were pleasantly surprised when Bob greeted them with Namaste and Vande Mataram. He expressed optimism about the strengthening relationship with India under the FTA. Praising India’s progress under PM Modi’s leadership, he stated, “India’s future is bright, and the bonds with other countries are solidifying.”
