Have Patna Courts Been Targeted by Bomb Threats?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 9 (NationPress) A wave of fear swept through Patna on Monday when the district court situated in the Sabji Bagh area received a bomb threat.
Later that same day, another alarming threat was reported at the Civil Court located at Gai Ghat in Patna.
In response to these threats, both court locations were swiftly evacuated, and police teams were dispatched to the scenes.
Bomb disposal teams, dog units, and security personnel initiated thorough searches at both court premises.
Officials noted that the threat at the Gai Ghat Civil Court was received directly on a judge's mobile phone, raising significant security alarms.
Earlier in the morning, it was revealed that Parliament House and around nine schools in Delhi received threatening emails warning of potential bomb explosions.
Sources indicated that these emails contained disturbing and inflammatory language.
One such email reportedly declared, “Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru.”
The email further asserted that a bomb would detonate inside Parliament at 1:11 p.m. on February 13.
Security agencies recognized that February 13 carries symbolic weight, as the infamous 2001 Parliament attack also occurred on the 13th of December, intensifying concerns over the seriousness of this threat.
As a precaution, security measures were heightened at Parliament, courts, and educational institutions, with students being sent home from the affected schools.
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies have launched coordinated investigations to uncover the origins of the emails and phone threats.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether these threats are mere hoaxes or linked to organized groups, but they are treating every potential risk with utmost seriousness.
The situation is under vigilant monitoring as both central and state security agencies continue their investigations.
Previously, on January 8, the Patna civil court also received a bomb threat via email, causing considerable panic.
Furthermore, bomb threats were reported at the Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and Bhagalpur Civil Courts on January 28.
