Has the Patna Civil Court Received Another Bomb Threat?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Patna Civil Court encountered yet another bomb threat on Wednesday morning, inciting panic and resulting in the evacuation of the entire court premises.
This marks the sixth bomb threat the court has faced in recent times.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Pirbahore Police Station confirmed the situation, stating that they received information about the threat around 8 a.m. Subsequently, district police and security agencies immediately responded to the scene, initiating a thorough search operation.
“A bomb squad, dog squad, and bomb detection units are meticulously examining the entire court premises. As of now, no suspicious items have been discovered. The search operation is ongoing,” the SHO mentioned.
In a precautionary step, the administration evacuated the court complex, sealed the main entrance, and restricted access to the premises.
Security measures have been heightened not only within the court but also in the adjacent areas, with stringent checks of visitors.
The unexpected evacuation stirred panic within the court complex, and some lawyers expressed frustration due to the disruption of their work.
Officials indicated that the administration acted promptly to mitigate any risks, even though previous threats have been proven to be hoaxes.
Sources reveal that a similar bomb threat was reported two days prior, which was later confirmed to be false.
Nonetheless, officials are taking the latest threat very seriously and are not leaving any room for oversight.
Authorities stated that regular court activities will resume only after thorough security evaluations and clearance from investigative agencies.
Interestingly, two cases linked to Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, were scheduled for hearing at the Patna district court on the same day as the bomb threat.
A similar threat was noted on Monday, resulting in the rescheduling of the hearing for the Pappu Yadav case to Tuesday.
Investigative agencies and police are continuing their efforts to identify the origin of these repeated threats.
