Bommai Predicts Karnataka Government Won't Finish Its Tenure

Hubballi (Karnataka), Dec 6 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai stated on Friday that the Karnataka government is unlikely to fulfill its entire term.

During a media briefing in Hubballi, Bommai asserted, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is firmly attached to his position with ‘Fevicol’, yet there is significant discord within the Congress as leaders compete for both the CM and Deputy CM roles. This internal strife will intensify, ultimately hindering the Congress government from finishing its term.”

Bommai accused CM Siddaramaiah of holding onto his role while Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar seeks to dethrone him, with Home Minister G. Parameshwara questioning his own involvement in this political spectacle.

“This internal struggle will escalate in the forthcoming days, and I firmly believe this government will not endure its full term,” Bommai stated.

When asked about the Congress' Jana Kalyan convention in Hassan, Bommai expressed skepticism regarding its significance.

“What exactly were they celebrating? The people have entrusted them with power to promote welfare, yet the Congress appears preoccupied with their events. They have depleted the state treasury. This government is a total failure – zero in development, zero in social justice, and zero in maintaining law and order. They have mismanaged funds and stalled progress. Their events seem designed to sway court proceedings, utilizing public resources for gatherings instead of genuine development,” he alleged.

In response to CM Siddaramaiah's claim that the BJP’s opposition to the Waqf Board was mere theatrics, the MP emphasized that the CM himself is a principal actor in this drama, and it is the Opposition's responsibility to scrutinize the government's missteps.

Regarding CM Siddaramaiah's previous remark about retiring from politics if the Centre delivered 10 kilos of rice, the former CM clarified that it was not the BJP-led NDA government that made this promise; rather, it was the Congress.

“However, not a single grain of rice is being provided by their administration. It is the central government that is supplying rice, yet they lack the decency to acknowledge it,” he remarked.

When questioned about the outcomes of the BJP core committee meeting in New Delhi, he mentioned that various matters, including internal party affairs, organizational growth, and political strategies, would be discussed.

“We have successfully completed the membership drive, and numerous political developments have transpired since. Organizational growth and political dynamics will be focal points of the discussions,” he noted.

As the Belagavi Winter Session approaches, Bommai underscored the importance of addressing issues in North Karnataka.
