Karnataka Dy CM's Endurance with Party Nearing Its Limit: Bommai

Bengaluru, Jan 8 (NationPress) BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai remarked on Wednesday that ever since the Congress took charge in Karnataka, there has been a sense of instability and internal discord, prompting inquiries regarding when Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's patience may finally wear thin.

Speaking to the press in Bengaluru, Bommai noted that D.K. Shivakumar is showing notable restraint, and it remains to be seen whether this is a tactical move or a directive from the party leadership.

In response to queries about the allegations of commission-based charges against the Congress, Bommai commented, "This administration is mired in commission and corruption across all sectors, leading to public frustration."

"Excise contractors, PWD contractors, and irrigation department contractors are facing hardships. The common populace is severely affected," Bommai stated.

"The middle class is in distress, and both rural and urban communities are encountering a climate where even acquiring land has become a challenge. Commissions are being demanded for SC/ST borewell projects. Corruption continues to surface repeatedly," Bommai alleged.

"The Chief Minister may refute this, but he has either lost control, is complicit, or fears that addressing the issue could jeopardize his position. Each department has a designated percentage of commission, and while it's tough to gauge the total extent, what Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy mentioned about the corruption reaching extreme levels seems to hold true," Bommai asserted.

Regarding Congress' dinner gatherings, Bommai stated, "These are internal affairs, and I won’t delve into them further."

When questioned if BJP leaders also organize dinner meetings, he replied, "We occasionally dine together, but it holds no particular significance."

On the internal matters within the state BJP, Bommai indicated that the party leadership is aware of the circumstances and is focused on resolving them.

"Everything will be addressed this month, and the high command is working towards fostering a positive environment for a fruitful resolution," he concluded.
