Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 8 (NationPress) C.V. Ananda Bose, the former Governor of West Bengal, revealed on Sunday that his decision to resign was a thoughtful choice, and the motives behind it will remain undisclosed until the appropriate moment.
Addressing the media after landing at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, Bose confirmed his intention to return to West Bengal to cast his vote.
A native of Kerala, he had established his voting residence in West Bengal just a week prior to his resignation.
“I made a deliberate decision to resign, and the reasons will remain private until the right time comes. Understanding when to exit is part of the game,” Bose stated.
When queried about President Droupadi Murmu's concerns over alleged protocol breaches in the state, Bose refrained from offering a direct comment.
“The President possesses vast experience, is balanced, and holds a great deal of dignity. She likely had her justifications for her remarks. However, it is not my position to comment on her statements,” Bose added.
He also chose not to discuss the state administration's operations. “As I am no longer the Governor, I will refrain from making any comments regarding the local governance,” he noted.
Bose officially resigned last Thursday, submitting his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi.
This unexpected resignation occurred just before the Assembly elections in the state. R.N. Ravi, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has stepped in to take his place. Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about this development.
In response, CM Banerjee expressed her shock and deep concern regarding the abrupt resignation.
Noting that she was unaware of the reasons behind his departure, the Chief Minister speculated that the Governor might have faced pressure from Union Home Minister Amit Shah to serve certain political agendas ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
