Brahmapur, Ganjam, Sep 10 (NationPress) - In a significant enhancement to railway infrastructure and connectivity in Odisha, the Central Government has revealed plans for the development of approximately 2046 kilometres of new railway lines throughout the state.

As part of this initiative, an Amrit Bharat Train is set to commence operations between Brahmapur and Surat. This announcement has sparked immense joy among the residents of Ganjam district in Odisha.

The introduction of this train is particularly crucial for the local populace, especially the migrant workers who frequently travel to Surat for employment and various livelihood opportunities. With many individuals making this journey daily, the launch of the Amrit Bharat Train is viewed as a timely and essential development.

Previously, there were only two trains available from Ganjam to Surat, often causing passengers to scramble for seats or rely on alternative travel options. Thus, the journey along this route was quite challenging. The new train is anticipated to alleviate this burden, providing enhanced convenience, comfort, and frequency for regular travelers.

Commenting on this positive change, Madhusudan Bishoyi, a frequent railway passenger, told IANS, "This is a significant relief for all of us. The train will not only diminish overcrowding but also ensure a smoother and quicker journey for us."

Sharing similar views, Anil Kumar Behera, a local resident, stated, "We have long awaited improved railway connectivity. This initiative demonstrates that the government is attentive to our needs."
