The personnel at the checkpoint were put on high alert. Around 10 am, they noticed a man riding a motorcycle approaching the area.
Given the suspicious nature of his movements, the troops stopped him for a thorough search.
During the search, two gold biscuits and two small pieces of gold were discovered concealed within the footrest of the motorcycle. The individual was then taken to the Boyraghat BOP for further questioning.
The apprehended man hails from Pirojpur village, located in the Raghunathganj police station area, close to the IBB. He was reportedly transporting gold that had been smuggled in from Bangladesh.
