Troops from the 194 Bn BSF of the South Bengal Frontier acted based on intelligence and detained the Indian smuggler within the jurisdiction of the Sunder Border Outpost. the official stated.
The smuggler was subsequently taken to the Sunder BOP for interrogation. He identified himself as a resident of Haritalapara village in the Dhantala police station area of Nadia. He admitted to being involved in the cross-border gold smuggling network for an extended period.
Both the smuggler and the seized gold have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal actions.
