New Delhi, Feb 1 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde praised the Union Budget 2025-26 put forth by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it the "Budget for Viksit Bharat", which aims to propel the nation towards a five trillion dollar economy.

He highlighted the significant relief provided to the middle class, noting the decision to exempt income tax for earnings up to Rs 12 lakh, and Rs 12.75 lakh for salaried individuals (factoring in standard deduction).

He remarked: "All countrymen are happy with the financial statement."

Emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the financial statement, he stated it offers benefits for all segments, including youth, farmers, and women. The Finance Minister's focus on employment-driven growth, particularly in the agricultural and rural sectors, MSMEs, and exports, while maintaining a path of fiscal consolidation, ensures economic stability.

The Shiv Sena leader also mentioned the incentives for the Information Technology and Electric Vehicles sectors.

Previously, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the document, calling it the "Dream Budget for the Middle Class."

In a post on X, he expressed: "Heartfelt thanks to Hon Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji, under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, for gifting the middle class a tax-free boost up to ₹12 lakh! A budget that lights up hopes and empowers dreams!"

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and FM Sitharaman for prioritizing his state in the Budget, addressing long-standing demands.

Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang commended the Budget, labeling it both development-oriented and welfare-driven.

"This is a budget that focuses on GYAN - Garib, Yuva, Annadata, and Nari Shakti," Sarang stated.

Sarang further highlighted that the budget aims to fortify India's foundation, paving the way for the nation to emerge as a developed economy by 2047.

Conversely, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi criticized the Budget as directionless, alleging that it will result in the rich becoming richer while the poor become poorer.
