Amaravati, March 11 (NationPress) YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and president of the YSR Congress Party, asserted on Wednesday that the recent CAG report has unveiled significant financial discrepancies within the coalition government of the state.

He claimed that the report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) confirmed what the YSRCP has been persistently highlighting regarding the financial mismanagement of the coalition government, noting that it has accrued a staggering Rs 3.2 lakh crore in borrowings within just two years. In contrast, the total borrowings during the entire five-year tenure of the YSRCP government amounted to just Rs 3.31 lakh crore.

During a press briefing, he emphasized the lack of transparency regarding the allocation of this immense debt, as the Super Six promises remain unfulfilled and state revenues have declined, indicating corruption and misappropriation, with the ruling coalition allegedly profiting from every sector, including sand, land, minerals, and liquor.

He stated that the declining revenues, increasing fiscal deficit, and escalating state borrowings are clear indicators of the financial turmoil the state faces.

YS Jagan criticized the coalition government for its failure to address critical issues during the recently concluded 16-day Assembly session. He reiterated that Chandrababu Naidu has been politicizing the Tirupati matter, despite the accusations directed at him.

He accused the budget session of being a platform for spreading falsehoods, propaganda, and unfounded allegations against political rivals, while legitimate concerns raised by the Opposition regarding public welfare were ignored.

Using data, the former Chief Minister queried various issues related to financial mismanagement and the Tirupati laddu. He mentioned that the questions posed during the 16-day session remained unanswered, as the focus was instead on praising coalition partners and attacking the YSRCP.

He charged that Chandrababu shows little reverence for divine matters, claiming that his incompetence in managing temples has led to tragic incidents, including the Tirupati stampede and recent events in Kadiri. Furthermore, he noted that inquiries about ghee adulteration were disregarded, and they uncovered links to Indiapure–Heritage while the ruling party attempted to evade accountability by presenting inconsistent narratives.

Jagan highlighted that during Chandrababu's administration, issues ranging from tenders to ghee supply and accepting rejected tankers were rampant, while he falsely accused the YSRCP. He also alleged that the Chief Minister quietly raised the price of ghee from Rs 351 to Rs 761 per kilogram to benefit his associates.

He remarked that Chandrababu's claims of ensuring women's safety during the International Women’s Day meeting were hollow, given the severe incidents of violence against women involving TDP–Jana Sena MLAs in regions like Railway Koduru, Amudalavalasa, Guntur East, and Sativedu.

He pointed out that complaints regarding a minister’s PA were overlooked while the TTD chairman remained unscathed despite incriminating evidence circulating publicly.

“During our governance, we made tangible strides in women’s empowerment across social, political, and economic domains, implementing measures like reservations, supporting small businesses, assisting with bank loans, and collaborating with multinational corporations,” he stated.

He concluded by emphasizing that under the coalition government, farmers are suffering due to the lack of Minimum Support Price (MSP) and crop insurance, whereas the YSRCP fulfilled all its commitments through RBKs. He also mentioned that the populace is facing health issues from contaminated drinking water and milk, with students being hospitalized due to unsanitary conditions in hostels.
