Amaravati, April 22 (NationPress) The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and President of the YSR Congress Party, Y. S Jagan Mohan Reddy, criticized the coalition government on Tuesday, asserting that the state is facing unmatched crisis.
He condemned the government regarding the detention of former Intelligence chief and senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, along with the interrogation of YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy and others.
He described the detention and interrogation of the MP concerning the liquor case as a vindictive move by the TDP-led administration.
Speaking at the Political Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting, the party's highest decision-making body, he stated that atrocious and unprecedented incidents are unfolding in the state under the TDP-led government.
He urged party members to confront these occurrences to prevent the decline of various systems that are under continuous threat.
“The coalition government has been shamelessly detaining individuals and fabricating cases to instill a climate of fear aimed at silencing dissent, but now is the time to advocate for the populace and scrutinize the state,” he expressed.
Jagan Mohan Reddy mentioned that since a case of irregularities in liquor sales during the previous TDP administration was filed against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he has been attempting to frame YSRCP leaders in fictitious cases.
The former chief minister accused the government of taking all possible measures to suppress matters of public concern, irregularities, corruption, and mismanagement from reaching the public through diversion tactics, whether via the arrest of prominent individuals or the propagation of false narratives regarding party leadership.
He cautioned that if the government persists in this manner, the degeneration of all systems will worsen, leading to anarchy.
“We must expose the government’s malicious intentions on various issues, including the preferential allocation of land to selected companies without proper oversight and awarding contracts at inflated prices whimsically, disregarding any procedure or prudence,” he asserted.
The YSRCP leader claimed that the state’s revenues are dwindling while wealth is being amassed for a privileged few. “All our welfare programs have come to a halt, while those promised by the coalition have yet to materialize. The accumulating debts are a sign of financial mismanagement,” he stated.
He urged party leaders to maintain connections with grassroots cadres and emphasized that in the next three years, they must address the public's concerns effectively and without compromise.
Meanwhile, former minister Ambati Rambabu accused Chandrababu Naidu of engaging in diversionary tactics to redirect public attention away from the coalition government’s corrupt governance. He claimed that the arrests of former intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu and Raj Kasireddy, under the pretense of a liquor scam, were orchestrated to distract from the extensive irregularities of the coalition government.
