New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated on Tuesday that the upcoming Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) reports, which will be presented in the Delhi Assembly, are poised to reveal the corruption and malpractices of the former AAP government. The BJP-led administration is set to disclose 14 outstanding CAG reports that purportedly expose significant financial and procedural discrepancies during the AAP's governance.

Among the primary concerns highlighted in these reports is the lavish renovation of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence at 6 Flag Staff Road, which the BJP has labeled 'Sheesh Mahal' due to its exorbitant expenses.

In an interview with IANS, Sachdeva emphasized, "The CAG report serves as a detailed account of the Aam Aadmi Party's corruption. When presented in the Assembly, Arvind Kejriwal must provide explanations to the public for the misuse of taxpayer money."

BJP officials have voiced concerns regarding the dramatic increase in renovation expenses. Initially, the Public Works Department (PWD) estimated the project at Rs 7.91 crore, following the guidelines from the Central Public Works Department.

However, the contract was awarded at Rs 8.62 crore, which was already 13.21 percent higher than the initial estimate. Ultimately, the final cost reportedly surged to Rs 33.66 crore, significantly exceeding the approved budget.

The report also raises questions regarding dubious tendering and consultancy practices. Sources indicate that the PWD could not substantiate its choice to grant contracts to three consultancy firms through restricted bidding, casting doubt over transparency.

In the meantime, Sachdeva refuted claims from AAP that the BJP-led government had removed portraits of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office.

On Monday, former Chief Minister Atishi shared a picture of herself in the CM's office, featuring portraits of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh in the background. She compared this to a photo of the new Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, showcasing portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In response, Sachdeva accused AAP of engaging in 'dirty politics.' "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar articulated in the Constitution that the President is the head of the government, while the Prime Minister acts as the executive head. For 11 years, AAP neither permitted the President's photo nor the Prime Minister’s picture to be displayed in the CM's office," he remarked.

"The true violator of the Constitution is Arvind Kejriwal," he added.
