The CBI successfully repatriated the trio - Suhail Basheer, Tofik Najir Khan, and Aaditya Jain - via Interpol channels, according to the official.
All three fugitives are wanted by Indian law enforcement. Jain is wanted in Rajasthan for his involvement in an extortion case, the official elaborated.
The International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) of the CBI, in partnership with NCB-Abu Dhabi and Kerala Police, successfully brought back Basheer, who was on a Red Notice, on April 2.
“The escort team from Kerala Police returned with the fugitive from the UAE and landed at the Cochin International Airport. Basheer was located in the UAE through meticulous tracking by the CBI via Interpol,” a statement from the CBI reported.
Basheer is sought by Kerala Police concerning a case filed at the Muvattupuzha Police Station, Ernakulam Rural District, Kerala, involving the rape of a minor girl in 2023 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
