Kolkata, Feb 18 (NationPress) On Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) obtained the voice samples of Kuntal Ghosh, a key figure implicated in West Bengal's cash-for-school job scandal.

On February 14, officials from the central agency received authorization from a special court in Kolkata to collect Ghosh's voice samples, as he is currently out on bail.

Ghosh appeared in person at the special court, where the CBI officials proceeded to gather his voice samples. The agency justified its request for the court's permission by asserting that the collection was essential due to the discovery of new evidence during the investigation.

Previously, both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which are conducting simultaneous investigations into the school employment case, had collected the voice samples of the principal accused, Sujay Krishna Bhadra.

After leaving the court, Ghosh expressed to the media that the CBI should also interrogate former Lok Sabha member Dibyendu Adhikari and ex-Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Bharati Ghosh for allegedly recommending candidates for school jobs to the then Education Minister and Trinamool Congress Secretary General Partha Chatterjee.

Both Ghosh and Adhikari are now affiliated with the BJP, with the latter being the younger sibling of the Opposition Leader in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari.

Several years ago, Kuntal Ghosh was detained by ED officials, and later, the CBI also arrested him concerning the school employment scandal.

The primary allegation against Ghosh is that he was responsible for amassing several crores of rupees from various job applicants who paid money to secure positions in state-run schools.

Additionally, he faces charges related to creating a fraudulent website that misrepresented unsuccessful candidates in the teachers’ eligibility test (TET) as successful.
