The funding approval was announced following a high-profile review meeting in Gandhinagar on November 25, 2025, featuring Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
This financial support will facilitate 41 road projects under the jurisdiction of the state government, encompassing a total stretch of 564.57 kilometres. These initiatives include widening, strengthening, resurfacing, and the construction of vital infrastructures aimed at enhancing road quality, safety, and connectivity.
Officials indicated that this renewed funding resonates with the Centre's priority, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to establish a resilient national road network that improves mobility and streamlines logistics efficiency through the PM Gati Shakti initiative.
Out of the total funding, Rs 636 crore has been allocated for 11 widening projects on state highways covering 229.20 km across regions including Patan, Kutch, Banaskantha, Kheda, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Valsad, Amreli, Jamnagar, and Vadodara.
An additional Rs 408.33 crore will fund 23 strengthening and resurfacing projects over 335.37 km in Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Tapi, Navsari, Devbhumi Dwarka, Surendranagar, Amreli, Surat, and Jamnagar.
Furthermore, Rs 33.80 crore has been designated for seven structural projects in the districts of Tapi, Surat, and Dang.
