This facility allows residents to receive assistance and immediate enrollment for several vital financial inclusion and social security programs. These programs include Atal Pension Yojana (APY), PM Jan Jeevan Yojana (JJY), PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (SBY), Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM), E-Shram registration, PM Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, Aadhaar services, e-KYC, digital banking, Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Jeevan Praman, Digi Dost, and a variety of essential digital services.
Dr. Javid Maqbool, the District Manager of CSC SPV Kupwara, emphasized the significance of digital empowerment. He mentioned that the Centre of Excellence will serve as a hub for digital awareness and service delivery, ensuring transparency and efficiency in governance. He also provided IANS with comprehensive details about the services offered by the centre.
The centre collaborates with Common Service Centres functioning throughout the district, facilitating smooth service delivery at the grassroots level. Residents can access various digital facilities while receiving support from trained Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), who assist with registrations, transactions, and information regarding government welfare initiatives.
Commenting on the impact of this initiative, Mushtaq Ahmad, a worker associated with the centre, noted the increasing public engagement. He stated that individuals from remote areas are now coming to the centre to access services that were previously challenging to obtain, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
Local community members have also expressed their approval of the initiative. Mohammad Rafiq, a resident, remarked that the centre has simplified access to government schemes for ordinary people, eliminating unnecessary delays.
The Centre of Excellence for e-Governance is projected to play a vital role in narrowing the digital divide in Kupwara and enhancing the last-mile delivery of governmental services, according to officials.
