Lucknow, Jan 7 (NationPress) On Wednesday, the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh outlined the steps for individuals to determine if their names are included in the draft voter list released on January 6. The Election Commission unveiled the draft electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative, indicating that the state now boasts over 12.55 crore eligible voters.

Simultaneously, approximately 2.89 crore names were eliminated during the ongoing revision process.

On social media platform X, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated, "For anyone wishing to verify if their name is present in the draft voter list of UP under SIR-2026 published on January 6, 2026, the procedure is straightforward. Please visit the CEO UP web portal."

He further elaborated that upon accessing the portal, a pop-up titled Special Intensive Revision (SIR) - 2026 will appear on the main page. Voters must then select the tab labeled 'Search your name by EPIC number in draft electoral roll SIR 2026'.

On the subsequent screen, voters are required to input their EPIC number in the designated box, enter the provided captcha, and click the SEARCH button.

If a voter's name is found in the draft list, the result will showcase details such as the district, Assembly Constituency, polling station name, and the serial number within the voter list.

If the name is absent from the draft electoral roll of any Assembly Constituency in Uttar Pradesh, the outcome will indicate 'No result found'.

Rinwa added, "Alternatively, navigate to the web portal http://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in, enter your EPIC number in the box named EPIC number, and click SEARCH after inputting the captcha. The result will display your details in the draft voter list if your name is present; otherwise, it will show 'no result found'."

Previously, the Chief Electoral Officer informed reporters that during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, around 2.17 crore voters were discovered to be missing or had relocated from their registered addresses.

He also mentioned that approximately 25.47 lakh electors were found to be registered at multiple locations.

Rinwa encouraged voters whose names are missing from the draft list to submit Form 6, stating that claims and objections can be lodged until February 6.

He noted that during the revision exercise, 46.23 lakh voters were confirmed as deceased since the last revision, and 18.70 percent of voters' signatures were not collected during the SIR process.
