Raipur, Feb 25 (NationPress) The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday honored the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away in December of last year.

As the session commenced, Speaker Raman Singh expressed deep sorrow over Dr. Singh's untimely demise.

Dr. Singh is celebrated as the architect of economic liberalization and reforms, a point reiterated by the Speaker.

The Speaker praised Dr. Singh's monumental contributions in advancing the Indian economy to remarkable levels, which are truly unforgettable.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised Dr. Manmohan Singh as a model of scholarship and humility.

“I was fortunate to gain invaluable insights from Dr. Manmohan Singh during my time as a Member of Parliament. The words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared at the end of Dr. Singh's Rajya Sabha tenure, are forever engraved in my memory,” Sai stated.

“Even while in a wheelchair, Dr. Singh displayed an unwavering dedication to his responsibilities, casting his vote on a Bill—an embodiment of the conscientiousness expected from a member of Parliament. His presence in the House strengthened the tenets of democracy,” the Chief Minister elaborated.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, a luminary of exceptional intellect, adeptly managed numerous vital roles throughout his public service, including that of Governor of the Reserve Bank, Finance Minister at the Centre, and Prime Minister, Sai concluded, “His life will forever be an inspiration to us all.”

Leader of the Opposition, Charan Das Mahant, and former Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, also honored Dr. Singh, reflecting on his numerous contributions.
