Bhopal/Madrid, July 16 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to speak at the 'Invest in Madhya Pradesh' forum in Madrid today.
Upon his arrival in Madrid, the capital of Spain, CM Yadav met with Dinesh K Patnaik, India's ambassador to Spain, early on Wednesday.
In a media interaction in Madrid, CM Yadav, accompanied by his wife and senior officials, stated his purpose is to attract investments to the state.
His visit to Spain will continue until July 19, during which he will engage in high-level discussions about industries, tourism, culture, sports, and filmmaking.
He is also set to meet the President of Spain's Film Commission to explore international film shooting opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
Following this, he will address the Invest in Madhya Pradesh forum.
Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, Chairman of the Spain India Council Foundation, will also speak at the event. Additionally, the Chief Minister plans to meet with members of the Indian diaspora.
CM Yadav arrived in Spain after a successful three-day business trip to Dubai from July 13 to 15.
"Our visit to Dubai was fruitful, yielding positive responses and investment proposals in sectors such as tourism, food, and textiles. We are optimistic about Spain as well," the Chief Minister remarked in a video message released from his office.
Before departing Dubai on Tuesday, CM Yadav met with senior officials from DP World and Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) regarding the Bharat Mart project and its logistics. He emphasized that Bharat Mart would serve as a gateway to global trade, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a key player in the global supply chain.
He noted that his trip to Dubai established a strong foundation for future development and trade partnerships.
During his time in the UAE, CM Yadav held numerous meetings for potential collaborations, including significant discussions with senior officials from DP World, JAFZA, e& (formerly Etisalat), the Director of LuLu Group International, Salim MA, and Tata Group.
He also met with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
In a post on X, Al Zeyoudi emphasized the potential for enhanced cooperation in high-value sectors during his meeting with CM Yadav.
After their meeting, CM Yadav stated that they discussed investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), highlighting that the state offers a robust industrial base, policy support, and infrastructure for investments in textiles, pharmaceuticals, smart manufacturing, renewable energy, and food processing.
