New Delhi, Oct 16 (NationPress) The Congress party has raised serious allegations against BJP's four-time MP Nishikant Dubey and his spouse Anamika Gautam, accusing them of extensive corruption and involvement in a loan scandal, urging for a comprehensive investigation into the couple's purported financial misconduct amounting to crores of rupees.

During a press briefing, Congress leader and Chairperson of Social Media and Digital Platforms, Supriya Shrinate, labeled Dubey as a “favored associate” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. She emphasized that the corruption allegations are so severe that the 56-year-old BJP MP may face the risk of losing his parliamentary seat in Godda.

“This is a blatant case of disproportionate assets. We want to ascertain the impartiality of the Lokpal in this matter,” she stated, detailing the complaint lodged against the MP.

“Our demand is for a thorough investigation into the entire scenario. Additionally, it’s essential to know what actions the Lokpal is undertaking and their responses. Both Nishikant Dubey and his wife need to clarify their positions, as this is a case of significant corruption,” she asserted.

The Congress representative highlighted the dire situation in the country, noting that 19 individuals succumb to financial stress daily, and farmers are compelled to take their lives. She pointed out that while citizens are resorting to pawning their valuables to manage debts, Anamika Gautam's wealth has escalated from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 32 crore.

Shrinate argued that Anamika Gautam's reported annual income was Rs 4 lakh in 2013-14, which astonishingly surged to Rs 2.16 crore by 2017-18—an increase of 54 times.

“There is no logical link between Anamika Gautam's declared income and her assets,” she commented.

Referencing Dubey's affidavits from his election nomination, the Congress leader questioned how Anamika Gautam acquired loans from four individuals without any collateral.

“Nishikant Dubey's wife has borrowed approximately Rs 8.28 crore from four individuals: Abhishek Jha: Rs 1.20 crore; Gurinder Sikka: Rs 3.24 crore; Jaswinder Kaur: Rs 1.34 crore; and Yogesh Kumar: Rs 2.50 crore.

“It’s peculiar that no collateral was provided for this loan. Moreover, it is surprising that Abhishek Jha, who lent money to Nishikant Dubey's wife, contested elections against the same people,” she remarked.

“Abhishek Jha denies having given any loan to Nishikant Dubey's wife. The pertinent question remains: if the loan was nonexistent, where did the funds originate?” she queried.

Providing information about public grievances against Dubey, she noted, “On May 24, 2025, a complaint regarding the property of Nishikant Dubey's wife was submitted to the Lokpal. On July 24, 2025, an order was issued directing Nishikant Dubey to respond within four weeks.”
