New Delhi, Oct 8 (NationPress) The chief of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, Ajay Rai, has launched a fierce critique against Mayawati, the head of the BSP, claiming she has aligned herself with the BJP and has betrayed the principles of the late Kanshi Ram as the 19th anniversary of his passing approaches.
In a conversation with IANS in Lucknow on Wednesday, Rai stated, “Kanshi Ram ji was a remarkable leader who dedicated his life to uplifting the underprivileged. Today, Mayawati has compromised that legacy. She has aligned her entire cadre with the BJP and acts solely according to their orders.”
He further asserted that the BSP's upcoming rally scheduled for October 9, in honor of Kanshi Ram’s death anniversary, is merely a “political spectacle.”
“Mayawati has not uttered a single word regarding the brutal murder of Hariom Valmiki. Dalits face humiliation and violence, yet she remains silent. Such silence disrespects Kanshi Ram's ideology,” Rai emphasized.
In response to Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting with Azam Khan, the Congress leader remarked, “Azam Khan was a foundational member of the Samajwadi Party and shared a brotherly bond with Mulayam Singh Yadav. Akhilesh’s visit to him is perfectly natural, and I believe he should continue to seek guidance from Azam Khan.”
Commenting on the BJP's criticisms of the INDIA bloc regarding the Bihar elections, Rai urged the ruling party to address its internal conflicts. “BJP's allies, such as Chirag Paswan and others, are expressing dissatisfaction and applying pressure. Conversely, all of Congress’s partners are united, and we are poised to form the government,” he asserted.
Rai further accused the BJP and its allies of being rattled by the issue of “vote theft” in Bihar. “This matter has resonated throughout Bihar. The BJP is frightened as its credibility is faltering,” he concluded.
