Jaipur, Jan 30 (NationPress) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has officially declared the selection of new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents in Rajasthan and Punjab effective immediately.
These appointments have received the endorsement of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge as part of the party's ongoing initiative for organizational enhancement, referred to as Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
As per an official statement released by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, new leadership has been assigned to four districts in Rajasthan and two districts in Punjab.
In Rajasthan, the Congress has designated Digvijay Singh Purawat as DCC President for Pratapgarh, Sunil Sharma for Jaipur Urban, Virender Singh Gurjar for Jhalawar, and Hansraj Meena for Baran.
In Punjab, Kulwant Rai Singla has been appointed as DCC President for Mansa, while Nishat Akhtar has taken on the role of DCC President for Malerkotla.
The party emphasized that these appointments are integral to bolstering the organizational framework at the grassroots level and revitalizing district units in preparation for upcoming political challenges.
The changes are effective immediately and are anticipated to significantly enhance the Congress party’s presence and coordination at the district level in both states.
The announcement was made from the AICC headquarters located at 24, Akbar Road, New Delhi, and is endorsed by K.C. Venugopal, MP and General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.
In Rajasthan, there has been a long-standing anticipation for these appointments across the four districts. Last year in November, names for 45 districts were announced.
Earlier this week, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi conducted a crucial meeting with senior leaders from the Uttarakhand unit of the party in New Delhi.
This meeting was part of a series of ongoing state-specific review sessions by the Congress high command aimed at evaluating organizational strength, addressing local issues, and formulating strategies for future electoral contests.
